Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LingoQ website at lingoq.study and the associated web application (collectively, the "Platform"), operated by LingoQ ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately. We may update these Terms from time to time; your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use LingoQ. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Platform and agree to these Terms. By using LingoQ, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

LingoQ is intended for personal, non-commercial language learning use. Use of the Platform for any commercial purpose without our written consent is prohibited.

You must register for an account to access most features of the Platform. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@lingoq.study if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing the free plan limits.

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Submit YouTube URLs containing unlawful, harmful, or copyright-infringing content for the purpose of circumventing content restrictions.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Platform in bulk.
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to interact with the Platform without our written consent.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or the Platform's underlying systems.
• Use the Platform to generate, store, or share content that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, or infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any content or features of the Platform without our written consent.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for any violation of these Terms.

LingoQ allows you to submit YouTube video URLs to generate language learning content from publicly available subtitles. By submitting a URL, you confirm that:

• You are accessing content you are legally permitted to use for personal learning purposes.
• You understand that LingoQ is not affiliated with YouTube or Google, and your use of YouTube content is separately subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.
• The AI-generated flashcards, quizzes, and vocabulary content derived from the submitted video are for your personal educational use only and must not be redistributed or published.

LingoQ does not host, store, or reproduce the video content itself. We extract subtitle text for the sole purpose of generating educational material. We respect the intellectual property rights of content creators and will respond promptly to any valid copyright concerns.

The Platform may also integrate with third-party services (e.g. AI providers, payment processors). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

LingoQ uses AI to generate flashcards, vocabulary definitions, comprehension quizzes, and grammar explanations. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or imperfections in translation or grammatical explanation.
• AI-generated content is provided for educational reference purposes and should not be relied upon as a definitive or professional language authority.
• You retain full responsibility for verifying the accuracy of any content before relying on it.

We continuously work to improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated content but make no guarantee of its completeness or correctness.

LingoQ offers a free plan and a paid Pro plan. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees as displayed at the time of purchase. All fees are in USD unless otherwise stated.

• Billing: Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel.
• Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. Failure to cancel before the trial ends will result in a charge.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain Pro access until then.
• Refunds: All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused subscription time, except where required by applicable law.
• Price Changes:We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.

The free plan includes limited access to the Platform as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to modify free plan limits at any time. Users who exceed free plan limits will be prompted to upgrade to Pro. We will not retroactively remove content you created under the free plan, but creation of new content may be restricted once limits are reached.

All content, features, branding, trademarks, logos, and technology of the LingoQ Platform are owned by or licensed to LingoQ and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the Platform (e.g. custom flashcard edits). By using the Platform, you grant LingoQ a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

AI-generated lesson content (flashcards, quizzes, vocabulary explanations) produced by the Platform is provided for your personal educational use only. Republishing, redistributing, or commercialising this content is not permitted.

The Platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated educational content for any specific learning goal.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LingoQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of progress, or failure to achieve any language learning outcome. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to LingoQ in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or activity that harms other users or the Platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if unresolved, through binding arbitration or the courts of the applicable jurisdiction. If you are an EEA or UK resident, you retain the right to bring claims in your local courts.

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
